Church of the Good Shepherd

Augusta, Georgia

Church of the Good Shepherd is one of Augusta’s oldest and most beloved community touchstones. Chartered in 1869, it is an Episcopal parish in the Diocese of Georgia striving to offer a ministry that makes a difference in the lives of people and in the community, in the name of Jesus Christ.

With an incredibly rich and storied history, there had been many incarnations of logos and brand elements over the years, but it had been a long period since its last refresh and had become dis-unified at many touchpoints.

The victorious lamb had always been representative of CGS in some manner, so keeping this brand equity was important. The logo was redrawn to be simple, 1-color, and to work at small sizes. The Church’s color palette was also maintained, unifying the many versions of dark green and gold that simultaneously existed.

The Church’s marvelous patterned stained glass windows were the inspiration for its main pattern, and a second pattern was derived from an original pattern found in the choir loft.
